Our Food Philosophy

Featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, from Head chef Nils Herold our sharing-style menu is perfect for enjoying with friends and family, offering you a dining experience that is both memorable and meaningful. Nils aim is to make food that is vibrant and compelling, yet unpretentious and truly enjoyable.

Our Wine Selection

With a focus on Mediterranean wines, our list created by Sommelier, Michael Hannken, features the unusual while still honouring everyone’s favourites. At Hazel, you’ll discover wines crafted from grapes with names you may not be able to pronounce and from regions you may have yet to explore, but are all bursting with flavour.

Our selected producers respect both the grapes and the natural environment, practicing biodynamic, organic, or at least sustainable farming methods. The grapes are gently fermented, often using indigenous yeasts, and typically aged in neutral vessels. Most are bottled without fining and with minimal sulphur. These producers are passionate about the traditions and heritage of their regions, ensuring a memorable tasting experience with wines that not only delight the palate but also support a sustainable future in winemaking.

Culture for the Whole Community Since 1940

We acknowledge the Dharawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land within Sutherland Shire. We pay respect to the Elders and their families, past, present and emerging, and through them, to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
